While we at the Big Sky Community Food Bank are NOT behavioral or mental health practitioners, we do have several partners that we are happy to refer to anyone interested in looking into these services.

Big Sky Resources

Big Sky is currently in the process of developing some robust mental and behavioral health services that range from volunteer conversation groups to referrals for in-patient treatment.

Wellness In Action (WIA)

WIA enriches the lives of people in Big Sky by providing sliding-scale counseling, classes on substance abuse and other behavioral health issues, and well-being opportunities such as camp scholarships.

Big Sky Medical Center

Big Sky Medical Center is a small critical access hospital providing 24/7/365 emergency and primary care to the Big Sky and West Yellowstone communities. The medical center includes:  emergency department & air ambulance service, inpatient care, primary care, behavioral health, imaging and ultrasound, laboratory services, inpatient and retail pharmacy.

1 counselor, a psychiatrist and a psychiatric med nurse that can prescribe medication. *** they will offer sliding fee scale soon!

Peer Support Addiction Specialist

Big Sky’s Peer Support Specialist is certified through Rimrock and can walk Big Sky clients through a variety of addiction recovery programs. Rimrock is the largest drug and alcohol addiction treatment center in the region, serving adults with substance use and co-occurring issues. Our local Big Sky Recovery/ Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist utilizes drug and alcohol addiction treatment programming that is designed to help people in need find a balance in their life.

Man Therapy

Manly techniques to reframe the conversation and save lives. Explore our decade-long approach to helping men address anger, stress, substance abuse, and suicidal thoughts head on. The innovative campaign and 24/7 digital platform gets working-aged men to think differently about their mental health and take action before they ever reach a point of crisis.

Alcohol and Drug Services of Gallatin County Provides prevention, education, addiction and mental health treatment services to help on your road to a healthy lifestyle.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) – Big Sky

AA is a fellowship of a diverse group of people, who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, so they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
Closed Meetings: for AA members only, or for those who have a desire to stop drinking
Open Meetings: for anyone interested in AA program; non-alcoholics may attend meetings as observers

Big Sky Navigator Network

Big Sky is developing a volunteer based Navigator Network with over 30 Wellness Ambassadors who are trained to assist individuals in accessing healthcare services, community wellness programs, or social support services, pointing them in the right direction and providing them with enough information to ensure successful access. Food Bank staff are members of the Navigator Network.

  • Refer to Navigator and Addiction Peer Support Specialist as needed
  • Encourage others to participate in health and wellness initiatives
  • Normalize talking about mental health

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): Bozeman

NAMI Montana supports, educates, and advocates for Montanans with mental illnesses and their families. Of all of NAMI Montana’s work, we are particularly proud of our education programs. Our 8-week courses offer powerful insight into mental illness and recovery that is incredibly valuable to individuals struggling with mental illness and their families. NAMI Montana believes that these courses save lives. We are happy to offer them free of charge to the people and families that need them.

Bridgercare

Providing excellent, affordable reproductive & sexual healthcare & education in Montana. Birth Control • STI Testing • Annual Exams

You deserve excellent, nonjudgmental, compassionate care that centers around your needs and goals. Bridgercare is the local nonprofit reproductive and sexual healthcare clinic for south central Montana! We are here for you, and our hope is to make healthcare easy, private, safe, and affordable.

We use a sliding fee scale, which means what you pay is based on income. Whether you have health insurance, Medicaid, or no insurance, you are welcome at Bridgercare. Whatever you or your insurance pays for, that payment or donation will help pay for someone who can’t otherwise afford care.

Haven

Haven provides confidential support, legal advocacy, counseling, and a safe place to stay for anyone and everyone impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and stalking. We work to empower survivors, elevate their voices, strengthen our community, hold abusers accountable, and stop the cycle of abuse. If you don’t feel respected and safe in your relationship, Haven is here for you.

Rocky Mountain Development Council

ROCKY’S AGENCY ON AGING
As one of the ten Montana Area Agencies on Aging, Rocky’s Agency on Aging, a free one-stop shop to find community resources, connects seniors and persons with disabilities to information and services. The Agency on Aging provides services to seniors over age 60 and adults age 18 and older with a disability. The six-county service area includes Broadwater, Gallatin, Jefferson, Lewis & Clark, Meagher, and Park Counties.
